Barnes City, IA -- December, 29 2008 -- Two years of planning, developing, programming & designing & it's here!!! The Squaw Creek Kennels website! There is so much I want to accomplish with it and so much more that I want it to be... It must be so much more than just another generic website of a breeder or breeders trying to just sell their puppies over the internet..
In my over 25 years of experience in this industry breeding and showing dogs, the goal was and still is always to be above average & striving for superiority and to be the one who sets the standard. This website is no exception. Which is why it's taken us some time to get it up and running in a way that starts us off with the right foot forward.
Granted it will allow more people the joy of owning a Squaw Creek puppy, but more importantly than that, I want anybody to use the site as a resource, a source of knowledge & information based on fact and over two and a half decades of experience and last but not least the ever so rare to find good ol' logic and common sense! The internet is a wonderful thing!
The problem with it is, anyone who has had a couple litters of puppies in their life thinks they are a breeder and can represent themselves as reputable and experienced.. It is unbelievable how much crap I see on the net. It defies logic and would insult the intelligence of anyone who actually knows anything about dogs & puppies, but people see it on the internet & believe it and that ultimately just hurts all of us, but most importantly, hurts the animals that these people bring into the world.
We want the Squaw Creek website to be the place where people can come with a question knowing they will get the straight answer of how it actually is and why it is that way. We want to start with the basic stuff that can throw the pet owner or potential new pet owner for a loop. Things like how to pick someone to get your puppy from, potty training, and eventually harder and more complex stuff like behaviors and advanced training.
I've rambled on enough for now. I am SO EXCITED to share my passion for dogs with all of you. Being a pet owner is a HUGE responsibility. They are just like 4 legged kids. Actually, I refer to my dogs as my kids. We are here to help you how ever we can with that responsibility. Let us know what it is that you need, what subjects you'd like for us to cover, or any thing else that would like to addressed on the site or any thing you think would be helpful.
Unlike many people, your dog asks for so very little & always gives you 110%. We would all be better people if we tried to be more like our dogs!!!
